Workers at Nino's Restaurant in Mount Pleasant are upset after finding a stray cat shot behind the restaurant.
The workers, who have cared for the stray cat for four years, said they can't figure out why someone would have pulled the trigger.
About 17 different cats live behind the restaurant. Workers said they feed the cats and care for them as if they were pets.
"It was just terrible, because he was in such pain," said Shana Bonneau, a worker at Nino's. "He was crying. I was like weeping. We were all here crying."
Vets said the cat's arm would probably have to be amputated.
Workers are looking for people to adopt the strays. They said they're also seeking donations to help cover the cost of surgery for the cat that was shot.
