Two cats left to die in cages
New Castle, DE (US)

Incident Date: Monday, Nov 13, 2006
County: New Castle

Disposition: Open

Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

Two young cats are recovering after they were left to die in their cages.

A Verizon telephone line repairman found the two cats while working in a remote area off Commons Boulevard in New Castle. They were locked in separate, upside down cages with no food or water. The S-P-C-A has named the two female cats Hope and Faith.

Mary Ann D'Amato with the S-P-C-A believes the cats were locked in the cages for two weeks. They are half their normal weights. She says they were victims of what she calls "a tremendous act of cruelty." One of the cats had a bloody and swollen nose because she was trying to get out of her cage.
