A call for help after gunshots rang out in a Cleveland neighborhood ended in a dangerous dog roundup. Police from the Fourth District responded to shots fired on Sophia Avenue near East 92nd Street and Kinsman Avenue.
When police arrived at the home they found a pit bull fighting ring and took nine dogs out of the house with help from the Cleveland dog warden.
Police said the person who fired the shots was trying to break up the fighting dogs.
A stray bullet hit a neighbor's house.
Cleveland City Councilman Kenneth Johnson said the city is working on a tougher vicious dog law.
"I think it needs to be addressed. We're working on it and want to ban pit bulls and dangerous dogs," Johnson said.
